Image: "Unterwegs / On the Way" by Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson (2019, wall paint on concrete, Neukölln, Berlin). Part of a series of wall-writings created by Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson in 2018 and 2019 in many public places in Berlin. Throughout the 2023-24 year, the Translation Studies Hub (TSH) is planning a series of activities on "Solidifying Translation Studies Curriculum and Laying the Groundwork for Certificate in Translation Studies." Founded in 2019, the TSH has organized a series of regular public lectures with practitioners and scholars of translation, colloquium series and workshops for faculty and students, and curricular initiatives at both undergraduate and graduate levels in translation and translation studies. Across its projects, the TSH has centered on one core goal: the increase, across the university, of translation literacy—the cultivation of a toolkit that enables the critical foregrounding of the power dynamics, social processes, and linguistic interplay that lie at the core of translation as a cultural enterprise.
